Pikes Peak ASTD Annual Learning Summit

Join the Virtual Revolution: An Online Learning Clinic by FranklinCovey

Matt Murdoch, Global Director of Online Learning for FranklinCovey, and Treion Muller, online learning expert, author & futurist, will present the 2014 PPASTD Learning Summit. Authors of the books, The Learning Explosion: 9 Rules to Ignite Your Virtual Classrooms & The Webinar Manifesto, they are shaping online learning for FranklinCovey and sharing their vision and insights with organizations around the world.

Based on the philosophy that blended learning is the best approach to adult learning, Muller & Murdoch will share current research on how people are choosing to learn, will show us how CLO’s of major organizations are choosing to spend their learning dollars on various modes of delivery, and will give us a “state-of-the-market” so we’ll understand the trends and resources available in online learning.

This interactive session will shape your thinking about the blended learning approach at your organization, and will give you a framework for integrating effective online learning.

8:30am - Check-in & Networking

9:00am -  Session 1: Harnessing the Learning Explosion

We're on the cusp of a new learning reality driven by technological advances. From the blackboard to the web; from the desk to the virtual classroom; from prescriptive instruction to self-directed; from traditional to informal. This is the new learning reality-the way people want to learn, like to learn and choose to learn. We'll explore how you can prepare yourself for the next generation through new modalities in this learning explosion.

12:00pm - Lunch (provided for full-day attendees only)

1:00pm - Session 2: 9 Rules to Ignite Your Digital Learning

Making the move online is challenging. Many organizations are struggling to find ways to cut costs and increase reach without sacrificing the quality of training. So how do we transfer live in-person training to an online experience?

You'll learn about the time-tested rules required to create a high-quality, highly-engaging training experience, and discover what it takes to successfully transfer your in-person classrooms online. With the resources, tools, and rules found in The Learning Explosion, you will be the spark that ignites your virtual training.

3:30pm - Q&A with Experts Murdoch & Muller
