Spice Up Your Training: The Role of Graphics and Visual Communication in Effective Training Materials, presented by Jonathan Tessier
The goal when designing a training program should be to draw and direct participant attention to what matters most so that your training is meaningful to learners. This can be done through the creation of artful and attractive presentations and participant learning materials that support the process of learning. Attractive presentations garner greater respect, and learners respond more positively to -- and retain -- information that is well laid out.
Surprisingly, the disciplines of instructional design and graphic design remain separate, but an understanding of both are necessary to produce training that puts learners in touch with the emotional side of ideas rather than just focusing on the heady, intellectual side of those ideas.
