Ben Lucero

Ben Lucero is a Sr. Instructional Designer who helps Colorado Springs Utilities achieve its mission of providing safe, reliable, competitively priced electric, natural gas, water and wastewater services to its citizen owners and customers. Ben does this by collaborating with clients to uncover underlying business challenges and works with them to develop meaningful and measurable solutions.

After six years in public education as a band director and then as a technology consultant for three years, Ben became a Colorado Springs Utilities’ employee in 2000 as a Sr. IT Trainer where he trained the workforce on a wide variety of technology tools and processes. He soon transitioned into the first ever e-Learning Specialist position at Colorado Springs Utilities. In this role, Ben led an effort to transition the organization into the world of online (asynchronous) training. Ben then transitioned into a Sr. instructional design role where he advanced online training opportunities and injected media development into the mix. For the past 20 years, Ben has designed and developed multitudes of training and media solutions for Colorado Springs Utilities. He is also responsible for onboarding an enterprise-wide video content platform that allows all employees to develop, manage, and deliver streamed media content to Colorado Springs Utilities. In recent years, Ben led the effort to revamp the front-end analysis process for the University of Springs Utilities and continues to be the lead evangelist for this effort.
