The New ATD Capability Model

How do you know you have the right skills and knowledge for a successful career in talent development? In January 2020, ATD published an updated Capability model that captures shifts in society, business, and the talent development profession. Following a methodical process of literature review, expert practitioner workshops, a comprehensive survey, and advise from thought leaders, ATD expanded upon their 2013 competency model to develop a broader model of 23 capabilities critical for talent development professionals.

Specifically, this session will explore:

  • Process and Methodology of building the ATD Capability Model
  • Building Personal Capability
  • Developing Professional Capability
  • Impacting Organizational Capability
  • Additional Resources

ATD Capabilities covered in session:
