You’ve heard many times that “telling it ain’t training,” and you know that a well-designed learning course uses interactive elements that enable learners to actively process and apply information. But these days the first question in designing training is how to tell it in the first place. Once you have selected the right instructional method (e.g. elearning vs. direct instruction), then you can figure out how to incorporate the interactive learning elements to turn it into training (e.g. games, tutorials, role plays, case studies, etc.). In this session we’ll discuss the factors involved in determining which instructional method and interactive elements are most effective for your content and provide you with tips and tools to create effective learning experiences, no matter how you tell it.
