Passing the Torch – Sharing critical knowledge with early career employees


This program will provide an overview of the Knowledge Management process used to identify critical positions, and capture skills and knowledge that are essential for early career engineering and construction employees to gain to successfully deliver large projects.

Speaker bio:

Gary Landrum is the Technical Knowledge and Training Manager at URS, Energy & Construction Division, based in Denver. Gary has over 25 years of experience leading international training and development programs for Fortune 500 companies including CH2M HILL, Orica Mining Services, and URS. His experience includes over 15 years implementing online, blended learning, and competency-based strategies with sound fundamentals of effective instructional design and “return on learning” analysis. He is a two-time recipient of the Rocky Mountain ASTD STAR award for learning program performance; recipient of the national TELLY award for training video production; and recipient of the Bersin and Associates High Impact Learning Organization award.

In his current role, he is leading development of a SharePoint-based technical knowledge portal for the construction function at URS that is delivered via SharePoint; and managing all aspects of technical training across the division.
